Bethel City Council protested Baba's Pizza's application for a liquor license because the restaurant has an outstanding fire and safety violation.
The council says it will support the application once the eatery meets safety codes.
Mayor Rick Robb also expressed concerns about the restaurant's close proximity to a residential area.
