Tuntutuliak Man Arrested For Beating Girlfriend

On Monday, Alaska State Troopers arrested a man in Tuntutuliak for beating his girlfriend.

Carl Ayagalria, age 22, is accused of hitting his girlfriend repeatedly with both a piece of firewood and a metal-tipped, wooden club. He is also accused of slamming her head into the wall several times. The alleged victim was medevaced to Bethel for further treatment. In an interview with Trooper Joshua Rallo, Ayagalria said that he had consumed most of a bottle of vodka before the incident took place.

Ayagalria is charged with multiple counts of assault in varying degrees. If found guilty, this will be his second domestic violence conviction in three years. He was arraigned in Bethel on Wednesday and his next hearing is scheduled for March 9. Ayagalria’s bail is set at $25,000.
