The investigation continues into an assault that left a man with multiple stab wounds in Emmonak. Allen Akaran was at his home in Emmonak on Friday when he started punching his girlfriend and then began striking his two-year-old daughter.

On Thursday afternoon, the state charged Albert R. Cleveland of Quinhagak in connection with the raid of a Bethel home where law enforcement seized large amounts of heroin and cocaine.

Six Plead Not Guilty To Heroin Charges

After the raid of a Bethel home in connection with the sale of heroin and crack cocaine, six suspects have now been arraigned. All pleaded not guilty to the charges, but bail was not lowered for any of the accused.

A man pulled a knife on an AC Store employee in Aniak over the weekend. According to the trooper dispatch, Glen Morgan, age 33, of Aniak went to the store on Saturday, where he demanded cigarettes from an employee and then turned a kitchen knife on the worker.

A Tribal Police Officer from Kongiginak was charged with two counts of assault after he allegedly had a party with confiscated alcohol from the police station.

The state is seeking a lesser assault charge in the case of Daniel Misner, who fired shots at a man in a residential neighborhood of Bethel earlier this year. Evidence that could have supported a charge of attempted murder was never submitted to his case.

State troopers, investigators and local police raided a house in Bethel this week and recovered heroin, crack cocaine, money and drug paraphernalia. They arrested seven people.

Law enforcement lead several people away in handcuffs with guns drawn Thursday afternoon in what appeared to be a raid in the Alaska State Housing Authority, or ASHA housing neighborhood, in Bethel.

A Bethel man charged with attempted murder has taken a plea deal in exchange for a much reduced sentence. The victim of the crime, Charlie Smith, is concerned that the deal was better than the accused deserved. Smith says that he was attacked outside Bethel's AC Quickstop by Daniel Misner, who fired six bullets from a .38-caliber pistol.

A four-wheeler collision in Akiachak has resulted in the death of one of the village elders, and injuries to the driver. Troopers say that alcohol is suspected to be a factor.
