Kuskokwim villages say they’re feeling the effects of Bethel’s new liquor store. The shop opened last week in the Kuskokwim’s hub after decades of banned sales.

Alaska State Troopers arrested 38-year-old Akiachak resident Harry Nose last week, he is facing multiple felony assault charges.

Troopers say last week on Thursday, Tribal Police Officers in Akiachak requested their assistance regarding an assault. Police say Nose assaulted his female guardian at their residence, he was released there under a court order after serving out a prior conviction.

Bethel Woman Arrested For Stealing Antlers

Alaska State Troopers say 32-year-old Bethel resident Kenlynn Nicholai was arrested in Bethel after allegedly stealing and selling antlers.

Wildlife Troopers in Bethel say they received a call from a Bethel resident on Wednesday around 4pm, saying someone had stolen a pair of caribou antlers from their back deck earlier that day.
