The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is suspending elective dental and eye appointments for three weeks to protect the health of its employees from the coronavirus.
The virus spreads through droplets issued from an infected person’s nose and mouth, and limiting dental and optical services could reduce its spread.
YKHC will continue to see patients that require serious dental or eye care. YKHC asks patients who need immediate attention to call their village health clinic or go to the emergency room in Bethel.
