Troopers Arrest Alleged Child Sex Offender In Bethel

Alaska State Troopers arrested an alleged child sex offender in Bethel on Thursday following a year-long cyber investigation.

Derek Jennings, age 36, is accused of sexually abusing a child multiple times within the past two years. He’s also charged with four counts of possessing child pornography.

Jennings was remanded to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center on Thursday. His bail is set at $50,000, and his next hearing is scheduled for September 11, 2018.
