Three people were found dead on the banks of the Kuskokwim River, near its tributary, the Tuntutuliak River on Sunday.

The Alaska State Troopers received word on Sunday morning that a body had been discovered. Just before the Troopers arrived to investigate, two Tribal Police Officers found two more bodies along the bank of the Kuskokwim.

The Troopers identified the three as Peter Joseph Jr., his wife, Jennifer Joseph, and Nettie Evan. All three are from Tuntutuliak. Alcohol is reported to have been a factor.

The Troopers report that on Saturday, someone spotted the Josephs’ boat on the river, empty. The Troopers transported the bodies to the state medical examiner and notified the families.
