Quinhagak Extends Travel Restrictions

The Native Village of Kwinhagak has added another month to its travel restrictions. Originally, the restrictions were put in place through the end of April. Now they will continue through May 31.

The village tribal council, in conjunction with the city and village corporation Qanirtuuq Inc.’s board of directors, agreed that only emergency and essential personnel will be allowed into the village. The new measure also defines residents as people who had established residency in the village before April 8. Those people will be allowed to return to Quinhagak, provided they self-quarantine for 14 days along with the other members of their households.
