Alaska State Troopers

This is a story from AP by KTUU

Though the cause of a small plane crash near Togiak that killed three people is still under investigation, a preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board has revealed details about the wreckage.

KTUU-TV reports that the commercial flight Ravn Connect Flight 3153 originated in Bethel on Oct. 2 and made stops in Togiak and Quinhagak before crashing. The plane was scheduled to land again in Togiak before heading to Bethel.

Three people were on board when the plane crashed: Timothy Cline, 43 of Homer, and Drew Welty, 29 of Anchorage, were the pilots on the flight. Louie John, 49 of Manokotak, was the passenger.

The plane crashed 12 miles northwest of Togiak over a steep rocky mountainside. The plane sustained substantial damage and a post-crash fire incinerated the fuselage and right wing.
