Most Y-K Delta Votes Uncounted On Morning Following Election

 Updated 11 a.m. Nov. 4, 2020:

Most of the votes cast in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta for the 2020 General Election remain uncounted as of the morning following Election Day.

As of 11 a.m. on Nov. 4, about 11% of votes from the Kuskokwim Delta’s House District 38 had been counted. Initial results showed the Democratic Incumbent for the Alaska House, Tiffany Zulkosky, leading challenger Willy Keppel of the Veterans Party by 21 points.

In the Yukon Delta’s House District 39, about 25% of votes have been counted. Initial results show the Democratic Incumbent for the Alaska House, Neal Foster, leading Republican challenger Dan Holmes by 43 points.

Results from the other races on the ballot, including the Presidential and Congressional races, for these districts are not yet available.

Many early and absentee ballots will not be counted until a week after the election. In District 38, there are at least 748 of these ballots, according to a preliminary Alaska Public Media analysis of Alaska Division of Elections data. In District 39, there are at least 464 of these uncounted ballots.
