Kaiser In Nome

At a few minutes before 1 p.m. on March 18, Bethel’s Pete Kaiser crossed the finish line in Nome with nine dogs in harness. His was the 14th team to complete the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race this year.

By a little after 11 a.m., the top 10 teams had driven into Nome. This year’s champion, Thomas Waerner, arrived a little after midnight on March 18. He was followed by Mitch Seavey, six hours later. Next to come in were Jessie Royer, Brent Sass, Aaron Burmeister, Joar Leifseth Ulsom, Page Drobny, Ryan Redington, Jessie Holmes, and Travis Beals.

Bethel’s Jessica Klejka arrived in White Mountain a little before 4 p.m. with 10 dogs in her team.
