Nov. 14 marks one month since registration opened for the 2020 Kuskokwim 300 Sled Dog Race. Eighteen mushers have currently signed up. As usual, the list includes champions from some of Alaska’s toughest races, including Bethel musher, four-time K300 champion, and reigning Iditarod champion, Pete Kaiser.

Also on the roster is reigning K300 champion Matthew Failor. Returning to the trail next year is nine-time K300 champion and four-time Iditarod champion Jeff King, along with four-time Iditarod champion Lance Mackey.

Iditarod champion Joar Leifseth Ulsom has also registered. Mushers on the roster who’ve finished in the Iditarod top five include Aaron Burmeister, Travis Beals, Wade Marrs, and Nicolas Petit. Also returning to the trail is Aniak’s Richie Diehl, who has finished sixth in the Iditarod. Joining the Kuskokwim 300 for the first time is Yukon Quest champion Matt Hall.

The Kuskokwim 300 race begins Jan. 17, 2020 in Bethel.
