The Holiday Classic, the second mushing race of the season, has been postponed one day to Sunday, Jan. 10.

The race was originally scheduled for Jan. 9, but it has been delayed by one day because of weather forecasts predicting negative 30 degree wind chills.

Any mushers who needs to cancel their entry because of the schedule change must contact the K300 Race Manager at 907-545-3300.

The race purse of $20,000 will be distributed to the top 15 finishers, with the winner taking home $2,700.

The Holiday Classic will kick off at 11 a.m. this Sunday, Jan. 10, on the river by Bethel’s small boat harbor.
