Bethel City Council is protesting a liquor license application from Dimitri’s Restaurant.
The council says the restaurant sits too close to a school, has inadequate parking, and received 13 violations on a recent fire and safety inspection.
The council will submit their protest to the Alaska Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, who will make the final call on issuing a license.
The Bethel City Council meeting began at 6:40 p.m. with Council Members Albertson and Wise absent. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
Council Member Zach Fansler is a KYUK employee.
