Calista Corporation shareholders elected three members to its board of directors at its annual meeting Saturday. Shareholders elected newcomer Wayne Don to represent Unit 6; Paul George Guy will continue to represent Unit 4; and Johnny Evan will stay on for Unit 5. Each director serves a three-year term.
Also at the meeting, the resolution to reduce quorum requirements for shareholders did not pass. It only received 59 percent of votes out of the needed 67 percent.
The resolution would have reduced quorum requirements for shareholder meetings from over one-half to a one-third requirement. Calista campaigned for the reduction before an influx of descendent shareholders enroll next year. Calista predicts shareholder numbers to triple to around 40,000, which the corporation says could make quorum more difficult to reach.
