Body Recovered From Kuskokwim River Below Bethel's Crowley Dock

Two fishermen were on the Kuskokwim river on Wednesday below Bethel's Crowley dock, when they saw a body floating near the shore. They called the police.

Bethel Police say that the body looks to have been decomposing for several weeks, and that it was dressed in black pants and a camouflage jacket. Bethel Search and Rescue says that matches the description of the man they have been looking for: 43-year-old Paul Kaganak from Napaskiak. Kaganak fell into the river in May near the Crowley dock.

The body has been sent to the medical examiner in Anchorage for positive identification.
