The coronavirus is squeezing the local economy as businesses shutter and people lose their jobs, and Bethel Community Services Foundation wants to provide some relief. The organization has set up a fund to help nonprofits and community service providers who are helping people facing eviction, homelessness, food insecurity, and struggling to pay utility bills. It’s called the COVID-19 Response Fund.
BCSF will match the first $5,000 in individual donations. The fund will also help support organizations that produce news and information.
Anyone who wants to donate can go online at bcsfoundation.org, or you can donate over the phone at 545-1812. You can also mail a donation to P.O. Box 2189, Bethel, AK 99559.
