Andrews Leads Bogus 150 Pack In Final Miles of Race

KYUK

Maurice Andrews is on track to earn his first Bogus Creek 150 title in the final miles of the race. He’s chased by Matt Scott, Cameron Jackson, and Gregory Larson on the run into Bethel.

Running dogs from the John Simon kennel, Andrews had a 17-minute edge over Bethel racer Matt Scott as they left the Tuluksak checkpoint. Andrews left the final stop at 5:59 a.m. on Saturday with a team of nine dogs. His only other Bogus Creek 150 finish earned him third place in 2017.

Matt Scott has an 18-minute buffer over Cameron Jackson on the final run over the icy trail back to Bethel. A finish is expected mid-morning in Bethel; KYUK will have live finish coverage.

The Bogus Creek 150 offers a $50,000 purse, with $7,500 going to the winning team.
