The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is holding a virtual town hall on Oct. 5 at 1:30 p.m. to provide an update on the COVID-19 pandemic in the region and answer the public’s questions. The event will occur over Zoom and be live-streamed on Facebook. KYUK will broadcast the town hall live on 640 AM.

KYUK will air a Yugtun translsation of the event at a later date.

YKHC is holding the event six days after declaring crisis standards of care. Before it announced these crisis standards, YKHC informed KYUK that it would not be granting KYUK any interviews and would only respond to KYUK’s questions via email.

YKHC Vice President of Communications Tiffany Zulkosky has not responded to KYUK’s email, sent Sept. 30, asking YKHC leadership to grant KYUK an interview to explain these standards to the public and appealing its decision to only communicate with KYUK through email.

The townhall will be live streamed on Facebook at: https://fb.me/e/2BuG7jFAn
