Competing in the 2018 Anchorage Christian School’s Denali Auto Glass Invite, the Warrior boys brought home two first place and two second place ribbons. The Lady Warriors took two second place and two third place ribbons from their work on the mats.

One first place standing went to Joseph Smith, who defeated Demetry Hoseth from Dillingham in the 112-pound bracket. And in the 160-pound bracket, Warrior Hayden Lieb won his blue ribbon by a decision over Gabe Martin from Grace Christian School.

The four second place finishes were evenly distributed between male and female Warriors. In the boys’ matches: Landon Smith won in the 103-pound bracket and Ryan Smith won in the 285-pound bracket. In the girls’ matches: Dellarae Charlie and Jaron Mute both placed second. Charlie won in the 103-pound bracket by a decision over Jean Krause from Dillingham High School. Mute took the 125-pound weight class by a decision in a match with Mina Cavasos from Homer High School.

Two third place standings were earned by the Lady Warriors. One went to Rebecca Samuelson in the 130-pound bracket and the other went to Alexis Kinegak in the 235-pound bracket.
