In a call with KYUK Friday afternoon, Orutsararmiut Native Council’s Executive Director, Ron Hoffman, confirmed that he has resigned from his position.

Hoffman actually resigned in early March, though it won’t be effective until May 2. After decades of public service, he said, it’s time to go back into retirement.

“I hope they’re successful in finding someone [and] addressing the issues important to the tribe and tribal membership and region,” Hoffman said of ONC.

ONC is accepting applications for a new executive director through April 30; notices are posted around town. Interested community members should submit their resume and a letter of introduction to the tribal organization’s attorney, Jim Valcarce.
