On December 8, a young man in Nunapitchuk stabbed a family member in the rear of the shoulder with an ulu, strangled another family member, and then assaulted a third, according to the Alaska State Troopers. The troopers responded to the attack from Bethel and say that alcohol played a role.

Dale Sallison, age 21, is currently being held at the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center, with bail set at $10,000. He was arrested on two counts of second-degree assault, one count of third-degree assault, three counts of fourth-degree assault, and one count of criminal mischief.

Meanwhile, the Nunapitchuk family member who was stabbed was treated for injuries and released.
