Kwethluk Man Sentenced To 21 Years For Assaulting Two People

KYUK

A Kwethluk man has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for biting off his the tip of his brother’s finger and assaulting a second person who tried to intervene. The second attack burst that victim’s bladder, according to a press release from state prosecutors.

Thirty-nine year-old Peter Nicori attacked both of these people in 2016, an event in which alcohol played a role. In September, Nicori was convicted of one count of assault in the first degree and two counts of assault in the third degree after a four-week jury trial.

Bethel's Superior Court sentenced Nicori in December. In addition to 21 years in prison, Nicori received 10 years probation.
