You can once again get salmon from the Bethel fish bin, located by Corina’s Groceries along Brown’s Slough. The green bin was replaced Sunday afternoon after being thrown into the slough last week.
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game deposits 10 to 60 salmon per day into the bin. They are free to the public and availalbe on a first come, first served basis. The fish are collected from the state operated Bethel Test Fishery and sonar site and are used to determine the size and makeup of salmon running up the Kuskokwim River.
