Applications For Absentee Ballots Due August 11

Alaska’s state primary elections are coming up and if you plan to vote by absentee ballot, you need to move fast.

Eligible Alaska voters must apply to receive their absentee ballots by the end of day on Saturday, August 11. Voters can submit that application by mail at the following address: Absentee and Petition Office /2525 Gambell Street, Suite 105 /Anchorage, AK 99503-2838

Residents can also submit the application by email (akabsentee@alaska.gov) or fax (907-677-9943). Anchorage’s Absentee Office will also be staffed between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. tomorrow to answer questions by phone (907-270-2700). For additional help filling out an absentee ballot application or to have someone else mail it in, contact Bethel City Clerk Lori Strickler.
 
Early and absentee voting began earlier this week on August 6. The state’s primary election will be held on August 21.
