Petra's Yup'ik name is Apaiyuk. Her parents are Paul M. & Ollie Jenkins from Nunapitchuk, AK. Her paternal grandparents are Arthur Jenkins from Alakanuk, AK and Anna Jenkins from an old village called Nanvarnarluk. Her maternal grandparents are Jimmy and Agnes Nicholai, also from Nanvarnarluk.

She lives in Bethel with her husband Francis Harpak. Their five children are Ciera, Iceis, Kyana,  Jace and Atlas.

Petra's hobbies include knitting, sewing and anything to do with subsistence activities. She also owns a Browning 20-gauge shotgun.

Sugar, corn starch, salt, water, berries, butter, lemon juice, 2 - 8oz. cream cheese, an egg, whipped cream, 2 pie crusts.

Dennis Raines dropped in to talk about growing up in the region, substance abuse issues, and his return to Alaska and mission to help those in recovery.  We spoke about bullying in our  schools and workplaces. Bethel Family Clinic presents workshops and assists village communities.

Lori Strickler, Bethel City Clerk, dropped in to discuss the upcoming Brown Bag lunch sessions.  Scheduled for August 8th and 16th at 1pm, these sessions will serve to answer any questions and provide any assistance required from potential City Council Candidates who have until August 20th at 4pm to file their intent to run.  Candidate packets are available at City Hall and from the city website.
