A one hour documentary telling the story of the Goodnews Bay Mining Company one of   Alaska’s most unique and most successful mining ventures.  From 1934 to 1976 the company mined one of the largest platinum deposits ever discovered in North America and the first discovered in the United States.

            Highlights the programs and services of a regional non-
            profit organization working with Yup'ik elders and youth
            in the Yukon/Kuskokwim delta region of western Alaska.

2000     ALASKA NATIVES AND SUBSISTENCE:
A RIGHT TO LIVE (8:00)
Co-produced with Pyramid Communications of Seattle for the Alaska Federation of Natives(AFN), this program puts the decade long battle by Alaska Natives for subsistence hunting and fishing rights in a very personal perspective.  Screened by AFN at the National Conference on Civil Rights in Washington, DC.

                Produced for the Alaska Rural Systemic Initiative
                and the Alaska Federation of Natives, this program
                highlights rural schools in western Alaska that are
                drawing upon their own Yup'ik Eskimo language and
                culture as a foundation for teaching the standard
                academic curriculum.

                Sanitation Alternatives For Rural Alaskan

This program was designed to assist rural Alaskan community leaders in determining the best solution for their specific rural sanitation needs through an examination of sanitation options available to rural communities.                     A visual essay on the history and  significance of masks, mask making and
                    masked dancing for the Yup'ik people of Alaska's Yukon/Kuskokwim Delta region.
                    Commissioned by the Anchorage Museum for The Living Tradition of
                    Yup'ik Masks exhibit.

                  A public affairs special addressing the issue of drowning in the Yukon/Kuskokwim
                  Delta, which has the highest per capita rate of accidental drownings
      in the United States.
